'My Tekki On It' Video

I have finally managed to put my 25+ min video on tekki applications and drills onto DVD. This is the expanded version which I previewed previously on My Tekki On It. I should be able to burn an extra one or two and give them away in a lucky draw to anyone who signs up for it on this post. Just put your name, Club, country, and email, and if I draw you I'll email you for your snail mail address. Colin

I can't believe that folks wouldn't jump on this offer! tekki is such a rich experience. If I only had 1 kata to train all the time, that would probably be the oneI'd choose. I can't wait to see the video.

Thanks
Pat.

Pat,

The stats are - 700+ visitors in a month but bounce rate is 70%. So in actuality I'm only getting 200+ legit visits. But the cold truth is that I've offered an absolutely free DVD for the last 2 weeks and no one (save you) responded. My Tekki on it is that I'm not going to earn much money from being a blogger. Or a martial artist! :-(

BTW - I've already sent off your DVD!!! Hope you like it. Would love your feedback.

Hey, haven't checked out your blog for a while. I'd be VERY interested in your Tekki video if the offer is still available.

Got it. Love it. I had only had time to watch it once but really like your interpretations of this fantatic kata. I'll be watching it some more and you'll be sure to see a review at my blog.

Good work!

Pat

Excellent! Glad you liked it.

I did that video filming each segment at the end of class over something like 6 weeks or so.

I'm looking forward to your review. AND if you're interested, I'd like you to think about adding to the project.

My next version might have a more granular look at combative skills and timing, rather than just funky ways to interpret the bigger moves.

Alright Brian, I've sent yours off yesterday.

Thanks Colin, I received your dvd today and took a peak. Like Patrick, I'll look at it more closely and give a review on my blog.

I thought your DVD had some great content in it. I think you did a great job of taking the concepts found in Tekki and applying them to realistic situations.

Brian - Excellent! Glad you liked what you saw. Looking forward to your responses. Looking forward to you adding to the project too! Please remember to directy link to my Tekki post off whatever post you do from your blog. It'll help with keyword ranking from search engines. Colin

I don't think I added in the side kick to the Tekki Video. I'll do that for the next version. Two drills:
1) Blocking a strike from same side, and kick to knee (facing forward) on same side.
2) Blocking a strike from opposite side, and takedown to knee (facing forward) on opposite side.

Colin, I have posted a commentary/review of your Tekki DVD on my blog.

My Take on Colin's Tekki DVD

Thanks, again, for the copy and for the education I got with it!

Any chance of getting in on the free offer still? I'd love to check it out.

Colin Wee said...

Hi Marc, each time I post it out it takes about $10 for me. I think I must have sent 7-8 copies already and still have yet to send it to another half dozen martial arts colleagues/friends who have signed up for it. I think I should focus on doing a second series before I start mailing more out. I have taken the Tekki training video as a continuing professional development exercise for myself -- it's not a commercial project. Also I don't really want for it to appear on youtube. When the second series comes out I can possibly charge for direct requests as it'll probably have enough to justify your spend. Hope you can wait a few months - just make sure you return to this post. Colin
